The Fortuna Choir was founded in 1983 by Mr. Frode Lovmand. The choir is based in Silkeborg in central Jutland in Denmark and has approximately 35 singers (SATB). We emphasize a combination of dedicated and devoted hard work with good humour and social activity. Our repertoire is based on classical music from early renaissance to music by contemporary composers.
Each year The Fortuna Choir gives a number of concerts based on smaller pieces of a cappella music. On top of that the choir has performed a variety of concerts with professional musicians such as ‘Requiem’ by M. Duruflé and Gabriel Fauré. Coronation Mass and Requiem by W.A. Mozart. ‘Carmina Burana’, by Carl Orff, ‘Liebesliederwalzer’ by Johannes Brahms, G.F.Händel’s ‘Messiah’ and ‘Acis and Galatea’. ‘Jesu meine Freude’ by J. S. Bach.
The Fortuna Choir has participated in competitions in Wales, Norway, Hungary, Germany and The Czech Republic.
The current conductor of the choir is Erling Kyvsgaard.

Fortuna Chor wurde 1983 von Frode Lovmand gegründet. Vom Anfang an war es unsere Bemühung einen so hohen Standard wie möglich aufrecht zu halten. Die klassische Musik vom vierzehnten Jahrhundert bis in die Gegenwart ist die Basis unseres Repertoires.
Der Fortuna Chor kommt aus Silkeborg in der Mitte von Jütland und hat rund 35 Mitglieder (SATB). Zwei Kennzeichen unseres Chores sind seriöse Arbeit – mit Humor und Lebensfreude vereint.
In den letzten Jahren haben wir ‘Messias’ und die kleine Oper ‘Acis und Galatea’ von Georg Friedrich Händel gesungen, sowie auch von Johann Sebastian Bach ‘Jesu meine Freude’, von Carl Orff ‘Carmina Burana’, von Gabriel Fauré das ‘Requiem’, von Johannes Brahms ‘Liebesliederwalzer’ und von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart das Requiem und die Krönungsmesse. Dabei arbeiten wir immer mit professionellen Musikern und Solisten zusammen.
Der Fortuna – Chor hat bis heute in Wettbewerben in Wales, Norwegen, Ungarn, Tschechien und mehrmals in Deutschland teilgenommen.
Der heutige Chorleiter ist Erling Kyvsgaard.
